Welcome to Monett Elementary School
Cub Pride - March 20th, 2015
Spring is finally among us! What better reason than beautiful weather to get out and do something active! On Saturday, April 25th, the Annual MES PTO Cub Run 5k/1 mile walk will take place right here in Monett at Monett Elementary School. Join us for post-race refreshments, prizes, and fun! Register now, spread the word to friends and family, and start training soon for those 3.1 miles. You can find a link to the Couch to 5k program on the Monett Elementary PTO, Monett Elementary, and Monett R-1 Healthy Schools Facebook pages.
Need one more reason to sign up? The fundraising! The PTO is a parent-driven volunteer organization that works to support the teachers, administrators, and students of MES. PTO plans events and activities that will strengthen the relationship between parents/students and the teachers/administrators, with their overall goal to support school enrichment programs. Fundraising efforts throughout the year are used primarily for field trips, field day, and teacher appreciation events. Their successful Fun Fest is a great family night with carnival-like games, prizes, and food. The third annual Cub Run is planned to engage the entire Monett R-1 District and Monett community in a healthy, active event. Other projects coordinated by PTO include the bi-annual Scholastic Book Fair and Box Tops for Learning as well as providing volunteers for other special events as needed. All proceeds from the race will support the MES PTO and the MES campus.
